Sorry for not keeping up but we have been very busy in 5B. This Friday was our first math test in our new book and we had 96% of the class pass awesome job. I am very excited to see the transformations already happening to the students. The light bulb is clicking on and it is a great sight to see. We also took our first reading test this week. Friday was a busy day of testing but we made it through.
Next week is midterm already. I can't believe how the first quarter has gone by. If you have any questions about grades or anything else please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks for letting me teach you child. It has been nothing but exciting and seeing the enjoyment most of the time is awesome.

This was a great week. We had a full week of school and learned many new ideas. In math we are still talking about multiplying and dividing whole numbers. Reading we read a play and talked about character traits. In science we are talking about the Animal kingdom and how it gets broken down. The best part of the week was Friday as we went to Lamoni and learned about the Civil War. We learned about the weapons, jobs of the women, and even a little about the medicine and surgeries. Even though we didn't get to see the reinactment of what a battle might look like it was a great learning experience for the students.

We have had a great first week of school. I am very excited to see where we can go and the heights that the students can reach. Math has been very interesting as both the students and myself are becoming familiar with the book. We have talked about the base 10 units and the number periods up to the millions. Reading has gotten off to a fast start with our first story. The students enjoyed it and we will be moving on to story two next week. Science and Social Studies are off and running as well. We have started talking about scientific classification and ordering. Ask your students about King Phillip Came Over For Good Sushi.
